    Join a British art historian on an inspiring journey to take a close look at the major shifts in 20th and 21st century Vietnam as seen through the eyes of Vietnamese artists. From the fresh white spaces of leading contemporary art galleries to the grand halls of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts museum, the journey takes participants from colonialism to independence, communism to globalization. The afternoon is at leisure before your Vespa adventure in the evening around Saigon for a feel of the nightlife feast of HCMC, a city of traffic, food and fun. (B,D)
  • Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh
    Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh
    After breakfast, get on a sampan to visit Cai Be floating market, a cultural feature of Mekong Delta. Try to visit it early and you will see the most vibrant scene on a Mekong River branch with hundreds of boats gathering for fresh produce trade. Continue the discovery of Mekong Delta through the tranquil winding lanes and crossing canals. Take in the fresh air, beautiful view and taste some freshly picked fruit in local orchards. Return to HCMC in the afternoon. (B,L)

  • Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Hoi An

    Transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for a short flight to Da Nang. After your arrival, transfer to hotel in Hoi An ancient town. After check in and refreshment, stroll down to the small town to visit more attractions including the Temples of Phuc Kien and Quang Dong, and the 16th century Japanese Covered Bridge. (B,L)

    Early in the morning visit local fish market and observe how a new day begins here. Then back to your hotel for breakfast before today adventure. Be responsible and reduce your carbon emissions by embarking on rowing boat tour enjoy a wide range of experiences - from learning traditional fishing techniques to paddling the strange and unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boats while exploring the now tranquil coconut-palm flanked waterways of a past war. Following by visiting a traditional homestay of Cam Thanh villager, having a simple cooking lesion with local, enjoy lunch in pleasant atmosphere surroundings. Afterwards, cycling back to town. Pausing at cemetery of this community to know about obsequies customs of local here. (B, L)
  • Day 6: Hoi An - Hue
    Day 6: Hoi An - Hue
    After breakfast, drive stylishly along the scenic coast from Hoi An to Hue, passing through spectacular Hai Van Pass (aka “the pass in the clouds”) and the delightful Lang Co Beach. You will as well tour the famous Cham museum before continuing on to the charming historic town of Hue. Transfer to your hotel for a well rest before explorring the UNESCO World Heritage City of Hue on a unique Cyclo. Ride along the banks of the Tinh Tam Lake and explore local life. See the city’s historic monuments including the Ngo Mon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns and Forbidden Purple City. At dusk, visiting a traditional garden house of a Hue Royal descendant, having dinner with imperial dishes while listening to chau van, a typical music performance that represents Hue hundreds year of Royal culture.  (B,D)
  • Day 7: Hue
    Day 7: Hue
    After breakfast, exploring the finest examples of Imperial architecture, the tomb of Khai Dinh. This hillside monument is a synthesis of Vietnamese and European elements. It has a surprisingly Gothic air from outside, while the interiors resemble an explosion of colourful mosaic. Following, visit Thien Lam pagoda where Southern Buddhism path has been remaining through hundreds of year. A basic meditation guided by Chief of monk will bring you to world of pleasant and peace in mind. Learning about divergence in many parts of Vietnam religion through lunch time with the abbot.
    Mid-noon, transfer to a local village in suburb area of the old city, meeting skilled workman who are expert in making the famous Vietnam conical hat and learn how to make ones. Later on, visit their ancestor memories house and get to know history of this craft work as well as Vietnam custom of spirit. Before return to the city, if time permits stop by a primary school, inspire your English to little children here; using big arm gestures, and exaggerated facial expressions to over boundary of two languages, getting closer to be a part of local community even just in a short time.     Say goodbye to the alluring tranquil of Hue to bound for hustle bustle Hanoi Capital. After a local lunch, discover Hanoi at first look by taking a walk through the bustling Paris corners of Hanoi. Let Hanoi impresses you in a natural way in your free time afterward. (B,L)

    City tour of Hanoi begins with a visit to Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, one of the most interesting museums in Vietnam where display a wide range of cultural heritages of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. After lunch, visit the nearby Temple of Literature, which for nearly ten centuries served as Vietnam's premier university with education based on the Chinese mandarin system, in which mandarins or government bureaucrats were selected by merit through the extremely rigorous imperial examination. Continue your journey; get a chance to meet with famous lacquer artists in West side of the city. Under their guidance, learn more about the basic traditional techniques of making lacquer in Vietnam from natural materials.
