CAMBODIA

Undiscovered for centuries, its wealth of natural beauty and rich heritage continue to amaze and astound, with Angkor, the world renowned cultural heritage site dating back to the earliest days of cultured civilization, attracting visitors from all over the world.

Located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Cambodia is arguably the jewel of IndoChina. Undiscovered by westerners for centuries, Cambodia's wealth of natural beauty and rich heritage continue to amaze and astound. Among Cambodia's wonders, towering over the surrounding tropical forests, the world renowned cultural heritage site of Angkor Wat dates back to the earliest days of cultured civilization and remains one of the planet’s oldest and most impressive treasures. Situated amongst one of greatest irrigation systems, near the lake and floodplain of Tonle Sap (itself regarded as one of the most amazing inland expanses of water on Earth) Angkor is simply incomparable in its historic signficance and phenomenal beauty.

All built by the hands of the diligent and highly skilled Khmers, Angkor Wat is joined by the equally stunning Bayon, Banteay Srei, and Ta Prohm temples, along with 100 other impressive monuments and temples in and around the ancient capital. Many of the temples are decorated with intricate carvings detailing the glorious past of this proud culture, including the fascinating solar calendar on Angkor Wat’s eastern wall, which remained undeciphered until only recently.
