Day 1: Hanoi - Train to Sapa
Take a night train to Sapa. Departs at 21.00
Day 2: Sapa
Arrive in Lao Cai around 5.30am. A drive up hill to Sa Pa takes an hour, gives you a glimpse of the stunning scenery and impressive rice terraces. Check in hotel, then take a short walk around to explore Sapa town. After lunch, trek down to Cat Cat village, home of the Black H' Mong tribe. We will stop over at one of very typical house and learn about architectures, culture and custom. Accommodation in Sapa. (B,L,D) |

Day 3: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van
After breakfast, we trek from the hotel through pine forests and mountain valleys which surrounded by French architectures. The trek will lead from one to many different unbreathtaking sceneries for pictures of Lao Chai village, home of the Black H'mong people and via Ta Van village, home of the D'zay tribe. Late afternoon transfer back to Lao Cai station for an night train back to Hanoi. (B,L,D)

Day 1: Hanoi - Train to Sapa

Day 2: Lao Cai - Cancau/Bac Ha - Sapa (Saturday for Can Cau Market/Sunday for Bac Ba Market)
Arrive in Lao Cai around 5.30am. Freshen up and have breakfast then get on your van to Bac Ha market - the famous, biggest market in the North - home of flower H'mong ethnic people. It conveys all the distinctive features of their life and culture. People here go to the market not only for buying and selling stocks but also to meet their friends and lovers as well. They come to eat traditional dishes and drink the corn wine. You might have chance to see many of them hangover after the market on the way home. Lunch in a restaurant. Transfer to Sapa in late afternoon. Accommodation in Sapa. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Hanoi by night train

Day 3: Ta van-Giang Ta chai- Ban ho
After breakfast, we follow the water buffalo trails to Giang Ta Chai village home of the Red D'zao people. They are making the best handmade embroidery and handicrafts in this region, you might have a chance to chat with them in different foreign languages, and find out a lots of culture values and customs from them as well. Picnic lunch will be served by bank of stream before heading to Ban ho which is the homeland of the Tay people. Enjoy the Vietnamese green tea and watching the sunset down to the valley of Ban Ho. Overnight at Ecolodge. (B,L,D) Trekking distance: 25 km.
Day 4: Ban ho-Sapa
After breakfast, we will have more trek villages around before heading back to Lao Cai station to catch a night train back to Hanoi. (B,L,D)

Day 1: Hanoi - Train to Sapa
Take a night train to Sapa. Departs at 21.00
Day 2: Hanoi - Train to Sapa
Arrive in Laocai in the early morning then transfer to Sapa town (one hour drive). Explore the town on your own. Accommodation in Sapa.
Day 3: A jeep will take you to Cat Cat Village.
After breakfast, start a whole day trekking uphill on narrow trails, through small spectacular passes in subtropical forest. Camps are set up at an altitude of around 2.000 m., foods are prepared by local guide and porters. Overnight in camps. (B,L,D)

Day 4:
Today we will walk for 6-8 hours to get the altitude of around 2.700 m. Trails become more steep but more stunning view. Overnight in camps. (B,L,D).
Day 5:
After breakfast, continue uphill for a few hours to get a point of 2,900m. Whole of Sapa can be viewed at this point. Take rest and foods to get energy to reach the top point of 3,143m. From here, if the weather is clear enough, we can see all the way to China in the North and West and Lao in the South. The view is fantastic. Afterwards, trek down to camp for dinner and overnight. Keep trekking down, arrive to Sapa in the afternoon, finish your wonderful journey. (B,L).

After picnic lunch, trek along local roads and trails, through beautiful corn field and rice terraces to the villages of Black Dzao and Lu people, then heading to Lai Chau for dinner and overnight in hotel in Lai chau. Day 4: Lai Chau – Dien Bien Phu
Today, we get deep into the North-West Loop. Visit minority villages and meet friendly minority people along the way. Arrive in Dien Bien Phu which was famous throughout the world as the site of the final Vietnamese victory over the French army in 1954. Overnight in the town of Dien Bien Phu. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Dien Bien Phu
Visit the old Dien Bien Phu battle field including the A-1 Hill, the De Castries command Post, a trophy tank display. In the afternoon explore Dien Bien city and Muong Thanh valley and the Museum of Dien Bien Phu Battle. Overnight in Dien Bien. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Dien Bien Phu – Son La
Go on to Son La, celebrated in Vietnam for its great fruit orchards. See the way of life of the Black Thai, Tay and Dao minority people. Visit the famous French prison where many of Vietnam's top leaders were imprisoned during the French Colonial period. Overnight in Son La. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Son La – Mai Chau
Early departure for Mai Chau (about 200km), Stop over in Moc Chau plateau with hundreds of giant grass farm for cows, as well as tea and sugarcane plantations, see the Blue H’mong and Flower H’mong ethnic villages. Arrive in Mai Chau in the late afternoon. After dinner, enjoy the traditional Thai performance dance. Overnight in a Mai Chau. (B,L,D) |
